Exchanges & Returns

Welcome to Aota Lab (operated by "CLMNT Machinery India LLP", “Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). This Returns & Exchanges Policy ("Policy") is issued in accordance with the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 and outlines your rights and obligations regarding product returns, exchanges, and refunds.

Aota Lab is a brand based in Mumbai, India, engaged in the sale of curated home espresso machines, grinders, and coffee tools, with an offline experience center and creative lab.

2. Eligibility for Returns
  • Returns are accepted only in cases of manufacturing defects or damage during transit.

  • Products must be returned within 7 days of delivery, unused, and in their original packaging with all accessories.

  • Proof of purchase (invoice/order confirmation) is required.

3. Non-Returnable Items

We cannot accept returns for:

  • Products damaged due to misuse, neglect, or improper handling.

  • Products used for commercial purposes.

  • Customized or special-order products.

  • Consumable items (if any, e.g. coffee beans, cleaning tablets).

  • Pre-order items once confirmed.

4. Exchanges
  • If a product is defective or damaged on arrival, we will offer either:

    • A replacement unit, subject to availability, or

    • An exchange for another product of equal value, if mutually agreed.

5. Refunds
  • If a return is approved, refunds will be processed to your original payment method only.

  • Refunds will be initiated within 5–7 working days in line with RBI guidelines.

  • Processing times may vary depending on your bank/payment provider.

6. Damaged or Lost Packages
  • If your package arrives damaged, you must notify us within 48 hours of delivery, with photos of the product and packaging.

  • For lost shipments, we will coordinate with our courier partners to investigate and resolve the issue.

7. Cancellations
  • Pre-orders: Once confirmed, cancellations are accepted prior shipment.

  • Standard orders: May be cancelled prior to shipment by contacting us. Once shipped, cancellations are not possible.

8. Return Shipping
  • For approved returns due to defects or transit damage, we will cover the cost of return shipping.

  • For all other cases (where applicable), customers are responsible for return shipping charges.
